My 2 floorhouse, 120 square meter, is recently renovated, but in the old style of the 1930 architecture.
It has a big fully equiped kitchen(dishwasher,combioven/microwave, espressomachine)a cosy living and two bedrooms with balcony and a bathroom on the second floor and a third big bedroom with bathroom,washingmachine and study and 30 square meter roofterrace on the third topfloor.It is a charming comfortable house with a cosy atmosphere in a very nice typical Amsterdam neighbourhood (no tourist area)where you can take part of the typical dutch life, buy your groceries in typical dutch shops while only a few blocks away the international atmosphere of Amsterdam as the capital of the Netherlands starts...

The neighbourhood (also called the riverarea) is in the south of Amsterdam which is known as the "better" part.It is built in the beginning of the 20st century and still very authentic. It is very quiet and safe and the Hunzestreet is a nice childfriendly street with a small parc in front of the house and nice plants and flowers on the broad pavement, where the neighbours sit and chat in the summer while their children play..as if it were a small village. But just around the corner it gets real lifely and the citylife starts with a lot of shops,restaurants,trams, buses, which bring you to all the parts of Amsterdam or outside Amsterdam wherever you want to go.
On walking distance there is a lot to be seen and done:
- "De Pijp" (10 minutes walk)an area known as "the Quartier Latin" of Amsterdam with lots of nice shops and exotic restaurants and people from all over the world.The huge market "Albert Cuyp" is not to be missed!
- The Amstel river( 2 minutes), if you like to walk and look at the boathouses or just sit and see the boats pass by
-The Amstel parc (5 minutes), a charming old parc
-the Amstelstation (10 minutes walk) the trains will bring you all over Holland or Belgium (3 hours) or Germany (3 hours)if you like or to Schipholairport(by Metro or train 15 minutes)
- There is a public in an outdoor swimmingpool (5 minutes walk)and an outdoor public tenniscourt in the street!
- The museumarea with the famous Van GoghMuseum,the Rijksmuseum, the CityMuseum, Diamondmuseum, the Heinekenbrewery (25 minutes walk or 10 minutes by tram)
-the p.c. Hooftstreet if you are interested in Armani,Gucci,Prada etc etc
-The old center of Amsterdam, the Queens Palace and big squares are a 30 minutes walk or 10 minutes by tram)
-The Amsterdam wood ((15 min by tram)where you can walk in the woods or rent a boat on the lake.There is a huge sauna/spa/wellnesscentre.
I can go on and on with this list of things to do which will make your stay in my charming neighbourhood a perfect one and as you may have noticed it is a very very nice area for people with or without children!
I also own a very cute gardenhouse in the cultural westerpark Amsterdam, about 30 min north from my house. It is a very simple wooden house and used to be for people who grew there own vegetables next to the trainrail. Now it is for relaxation and to get back to the basis and do some gardening;there is no electricity but everything is on gas(hot water, shower, refridgerator, cooker). You can visit it as well if you like the typical people from Amsterdam (the old fashioned ones mixed with the modern yuppies who are destressing there) I can show you around, because i will live there when you stay in my house.It is an unexpected world of its own...

I am Yvonne,51 years old and an actress/playwriter. I do theaterperformances for children in the Rijksmuseum and Van Goghmuseum and I also write plays.I live in this house with two of my three lovely children.My eldest daughter Rosanne has her own apartment in another part of Amsterdam, she is 22 years old and studies Psychology. My son Floris is 18 years old, still at school and a very good footballplayer and my youngest daughter Loïs is 14 and loves to shop and chat with her friends. We have a very sweet and funny cat called Phoebe.My children and I are born and raised in Amsterdam, and we all love this city.We moved last year from the western part of Amsterdam to the south and renovated the house... we all really love our new house!
I am interested in many things, I love to sing in a choir, go to the theatre,movies and musea,and ofcourse I love to travel. For holidays I like to relax in the sun and on the beach, read many books, eat the best food and walk in the nature on small paths that brings me to empty beaches or forgotten villages..I like to meet native people and let me get inspired by there way of living.
